I know the pics aren't the greatest but I get the impression this is not a factory finish!

As said, you'd need to see it in the flesh but part of me is thinking why stain a dark wood body (as the SS II's are invariably that).

I could understand a dark stain on a maple/ash body but staining a wood that is already dark hardwood... that's wrong!

I have no such problem............it's bad. Almost looks like it might be at home in my compost bin. Such a shame to do something like that to an SSII.

In your opinion. In mine, the SSII is a beautiful instrument! Such a shame that it had to be butchered in the way that it was.

MB1. :)

"whos crapped in the warwick wax?"?
creosote?
gravy browning?
boot polish?
linseed oil?
cuprinol one coat fence spray?
motor oil?

wont be trying any of these methods on my LE 2003 blonde maple thumb.
Really, he should have applied another coat in the autumn..
The frost has got at it terrible and I'm sure the sun will do further
damage.
Ah yes, but Cuprinol is guaranteed for 12 months per application - I think he should really return it to his local Homebase as it obviously doesn't do what it says on the tin. :)
