Rick's Fine '52 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Nice bass, Bravewoods are great, i have one. Good luck with the sale.
Cairobill Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Indeed. Extremely wonderful things. It's giving me the vapours selling it, I can tell you!
jimbobothy Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 No excuse necessary for the playing, sounded alright to me . Have a Jaco bump on me!
Cairobill Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 scholars and gentlemen the lot of you
Cairobill Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) Here's a thought. Trade options (with at least £750 heading my way) could include interesting Jazz, P Basses, Rays or Rics. It would have to be pretty local I'm afraid as I would like both parties to try before they buy. PM me with ideas... Cheers, Nick Edited February 3, 2012 by Cairobill
twodinners Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Nick very kindly let me see, hear and generally fumble about on this bass last week. It's a fantastic instrument that plays very nicely, looks stunning and most impressively really works as a whole. It will certainly do the Jaco thing but it also has a lovely full dark tone in there as well. I'd never seen a Bravewood before and It's fabulously well made and obviously a product of someone with real talent. Pretty special really.
Cairobill Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) Thanks Kevin, flattered to have a man of your calibre (Pino who? ) give the bass some props! Best N Edited February 7, 2012 by Cairobill
supabock Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 This bass has a great tone and as its model suggests is based on Jaco's bass, but excuse my ignorance, does it have a variation of tones or is that pretty much it?
Cairobill Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) It has the classic tonal variation of a vintage jazz . Obviously there are many variations as you tweak the blend between the front and back pickups as per any jazz bass. The demo is 100 percent neck, 50/50 neck and bridge and 100 percent bridge. Overall I would say it's firmly in the darker, more vintagey end of things. The strings are over a year old though. Best, N Edited February 8, 2012 by Cairobill
