I kinda struggle to listen to some of these songs, especially when they're being sung in lithuanian?, when i know the originals so well. Heres to hoping the UK shows have a live band though. Faithless Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Errrr, but there werent any English songs sung in Lithuanian,except the "Voice" hymn, which wasnt on this show anyway.. Maybe there was a lithuanian tune, similar to some tune you may know? As for UK, in this show, they MUST have a band, because one of the main points in this show is live playing throughout the whole thing (Blind Auditions; Battles; Live shows) Thanks for the heads up, easy L Quote

Faithless Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Hey Jake, The thing with vocals on MJ track is that the guy is one of the baddest singers out there in Lithuania, but he was overly drunk before the filming, that's why he sounded so bad. As for synth, well, MD didn't ask me to play that riff, which is actually played on synth, and the bottom end bassline on the record sounded just like a regular bass. Would you say synth would have worked better? There will be at least one tune this Sunday, where I'm doing synth - I bet you'll enjoy that one ,dude easy L Edited March 9, 2012 by Faithless Quote

I thought that the girl was pretty good - and that boy can sing, pity he was so drunk (he was also pretty drunk during Blind Auditions too - he favors booze, you know..) I really liked the Bocelli one, but when that girl tuned in (well she's 16 and she literally took it for a fight,as you've heard) it was just awful. Don't worry though, the next show will feature some kickass duets, I'll keep you posted, peeps easy L Quote

Bad choice of track, MJ pretty much cant be beaten at his own game, reinterpreting it just sounds lame in comparison, esp when done with overzealous vocal hystrionics.... I know what you're saying about singers, but I think one reason they're sounding kinda 'weak' is being overly compressed and maybe due to some other mixing/mastering nuances that I don't know - all I know is that it, according to lots of folks who've been in arena, that Live thing sounded so much better than the outcome, that you get to see here. We've been pretty mad about engineers that mix the final thing for TV - I hope that next year we'll get someone from abroad, maybe the Holland show engineer, who really knows his stuff. easy L Edited March 20, 2012 by Faithless Quote

PS As for the future, during Live Shows, which are gonna kick in two weeks, I'm gonna start using Aguilar amplification (not sure about the cab though, yet) and hopefully, Moog Lil' Phatty Synthesizer.
