dannybuoy Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Spotted this over at TB. A new UK pedal builder had created and is selling a compressor based on the highly regarded 1176 and it looks pretty good! Although it might be worth waiting for Bongo's review first unless you happen to be near Oxford you can pop in and try one out. I don't think the builder is a member on here (yet). 73Jazz Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 ...really interesting. Bongos review is highly anticipated Quote
I am not excane Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I spoke too soon - before I checked the price.... That's ridiculous. Quote
thisnameistaken Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I'm not normally a fan of compression on bass (well, on my bass anyway) but I might get one of these just to see how it does in the studio. Quote

Pob Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 looking at the FB page it looks like it would be useful for more than just live. If it gets near enough to an 1176 sound it's actually not a bad price at all Quote
RichF Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 this looks pretty awesome. I cant wait to hear how it stacks up. Quote

[/quote] That's true, but I was thinking of all the compressors I know that are cheaper that offer a ton of more features. Maybe this compressor is awesome, I'm still interested in it Quote

Darkglass Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow, this looks super interesting! A friend of mine built couple 1176 and it rocks! He uses it for vocals, but it was great with bass, along with the LA2A probably one of my favorite compressors. If the pedal is loyal to the circuitry and components of the 1176, then, in my opinion, the price is not bad at all. The circuit is quite large and not at all cheap to build.
