Pete Academy Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 This showcases the bass guitar as the ultimate instrument. Great playing. http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2012/01/27/armin-metz-sanskar-valley-solo-bass-performance/ Quote

Conan Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Lovely! Very tight string-spacing on that bass... Quote
flyfisher Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Not much of a bass line though . . . . Quote
KevB Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited)
Not much of a bass line though . . . .
In a nutshell as usual flyfisher. It showcases his 6 string bass as his ultimate instrument I think but I wouldn't go further. Close your eyes and its a guitar solo in a lower register. Fine playing for sure but it doesn't really register with me as what I consider 'bass playing' at all. If he's in a jazz trio or something with no guitar then I could see it working really well though. And no 'Clutterbucking' which is worth brownie points Edited February 3, 2012 by KevB Quote
