observer
My band splitting up, and I need to build small PA system for myself. Already got mixer and PA amp - both cheapish obviously both stereo, good enough for start. Found on ebay Peavey Q431fx - it's a single chanel 31band graphic eq with feedback detection. Does it makes sense to buy it or rather look for other - dual chanel eq? Thanks Kris Edited February 3, 2012 by observer
Monckyman
Hey Observer. If you want to run in stereo, then a stereo EQ is better. But for pubs and small bars, Stereo is wasted a lot of the time anyway, as panning stuff tends to mean half the audience get a crap mix as they aren`t in the sweet spot. So your call really. It`s nice having the stereo option but mono is cheaper.
StraightSix
Mono graphics are also useful if you have a single, mono monitor mix. Personally, I find graphics more useful on the monitors than FOH.
