Prime_BASS
So I've been offered a Peavey G bass from the states. Including postage (not counting duty) It'll cost me £300. This seems a steal for a USA made bass with a graphite neck which I keep reading was made by Modulus!!?!?!?!?!? Besides romours I know that it's supposed to be very light, 35" scale (maybe a little long for me) 18V cirrus preamp and a good pickup. Things I'm worried about. After hearing some talkbasser's buying some for less than $200 I fear that it is just a sh*t bass and not a gem. (ok not bad but something must be wrong for it to be brouight so cheap) The thing that interests me the most is the solid graphite neck, as I dont think the pickup is in the musicman sweetspot, soI'd have to mod it to route one in. Anyone had one, got one, know's anymore???
Lfalex v1.1
I tried a NOS one in Pmt. I was distinctly unimpressed. Well made and set-up, but ultimately rather dull and bland. They wanted 600 notes for it (as a further disincentive)
Mr. Foxen
The Peavey badge seems to drop price on things. Like the opposite of the Ampeg bage.
Kiwi
I agree with LFalex, the one's I've tried have been unimpressive too. With a spec like that it could be a cheap Modulus Sonic Hammer or something. But the bass just sounds dead.
Prime_BASS
How dissapointing! It seems like a steal. The cirrus preamp is a pretty good one. Can't even savage a neck from it as its 35" scale. Ones on ebay US for 325USD which is pennies for neck that's cardon fibre!
