WELL................what a difference a few months make when the BC GAS magnet gets going
The 'back in black' theme has now diminished so to edit the below:

First up is a 2004 MIA P bass that I bought off Nick (Old Horse Murphy). I only bought this on a whim as a back up to the Thumb and it's become my main gigging bass. Nice and light with nice old P type thud (from the ancient strings?). [b]Still here and still the main gigging bass.[/b]

Second up is a 2007 stock black sparkle DJ5, bought as a bit of a noodling toy, keep toying with selling this but I can't think what to replace it with so it sits (not too unhappily) in the bedroom. The only mod done on this is the addition of the Jeannies black pg coutesy of a fellow basschatter. [b]Now gone to Mr Russ - couldn't get on with 35" and the string spacing.[/b]
Lastly is a Lakky BG with Villex pup and electronics bought recently from Marcus. So that I don't trip up over all of my basses in the dark, the Jeannies black pg has been replaced with the original mint green pg. This is currently for sale but I'm warming to it so it may stay in the fold for a while. [b]Now gone - bit of a saga this but glad to see it stayed in the BC fold.[/b]

The replacements, first up - a 2005 Stingray 4H. Nice bass, everybody needs a MM at some point. Bought off a fellow BC'er back in April.
Second up - a 1999 MIA Fretless Jazz that gets to go out on acoustic jams, bought from Ray a few months back.

This line up as been stable for a few months but with all the trade fodder on here you never know....

Having played all three today, I'd say you have a nice little brace there, Mart! Was particularly taken by the DJ5. Simple, not a massive output, but a really nice sounding bass & great to play, too!

I liked the Colour Scheme on your old S1 Jazz so much I bought the Ray equivalent.
Not had much chance to gig the MB as yet - still using the TE (its a long story) but hope to press it into service in the next week or so.

love the Stingray..the Sterling I punted a few months back was exactly the same CAR/black/maple combo. Your one is making me GAS for another MM 4 string. and a 2 band too,I always liked the sound of the 2EQ ones.very nice indeed!

Nice Ray. How does it sound through the yellow eyeball? And what about the Trace combo? I'm guessing the Mark Bass sound is a lot less coloured (ironically ).

Still playing around with the MB rig at the mo so no fixed opinions as yet.
Early impressions are that I prefer the TE combo with my Precision and the MB with the Ray. I always found the TE a bit 'fizzy' and live with the Ray (and my old now departed 2 bander too) but spot on with the Precision - guess there's more experimentation to go on. The MB seems to tame the Ray a bit, but I guess this is more due to the 15" MB cab (seems to have more low end than the TE) - if I was using a 2x10 or 1x12 MB cab I guess this would be different.
