EmmettC Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I was in the Oxfam record shop today and picked up the Chris De Burgh album Spanish Train and Other Stories on vinyl, I always loved the title song as a kid, and I still do now. The album has dated a bit, but there's a lot still to like, the bass is great throughout. My girlfriend is still laughing at me for owning a Chris De Burgh album though. I imagine there could be a bit of p1$$ taking here too, but you should listen to it first. Quote
icastle Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 The bass player from that time was a guy called Tony Reeves who worked with the likes of John Martyn, Davy Graham and Sandy Denny (and a stint with prog rock band Curved Air). Another quite distinctive bassist from that era was John Edwards when he was playing with Judie Tzuke - he's better know these days as the bassist with Status Quo though. Quote
