"velvet covering at the bottom for safeguarding of the bodies, padded neck-support with closing system, aluminium edges with chrome-plated ball corners,"

Wow! These Germans think of everything!

I have the Ibanez one and it’s really rather good: It’s very well made; can carry two basses easily on my back; lots of handles for holding in tight positions on the tube. Also, it stands up by itself; has lots of pockets and padding; and has very strong stitching.

One Negative point:
I walked a good 30 minutes in pouring rain with it on my back, since it sits so high above your head I couldn't cover it with an umbrella and the zips aren’t covered. For that reason I wouldn’t trust the bass inside to remain completely dry. They weren’t wet when I checked, but were moist. I on the other hand was completely wet through.

It looks like the kind of flightcase an undertaker would use :)

Thanks, very useful points.
Looks like there's little competition at this price point ...

I just ordered one of these from France, should be here by the bash if anyone wants to check it out. My Warwick double gigbag kills my shoulders because the straps click on, and also my back which as some of you know I have had major problems with recently. The wheels on this should prove handy.

Here is the link to where I got it from:
I couldn't find a picture of the 'back' of the case (shoulder straps etc) - gotta decent pic of yours Mr. Git?

Sorry, not to hand ..
If you can't wait 'til Sunday let me know and I'll snap a couple :)
There's a handle to lift it and a couple of backpack straps that can be tucked away behind a zip-up thing.

Great, no worries. It looked from this pics like there was just one shoulder strap. Happy to know that is not the case, though I don't intend on carrying it far. Hopefully mine should be here by Sunday, too.

Well there are two straps but hoiking it up and carrying it with two in is a tad uncomfortable as it bashes against your bum a bit. I tend to roll it and carry it with the side handle.
The pockets are a good size. I'd not oput anything to pointy in them though, despite the size as I think the basses may get damaged if teh case fell over onto the pocket side ...

It's well padded and has neck velcro straps. It feels very secure and protective. Plenty of padding between the basses as well as all round them.
The things it's not good at are standing up on its own, despite the pull out balance thing in the base, and leaning it against things is tricky as the natural way to do that (ie lean it back against something) doesn't work because of the wheels ....
Overall it's very good and great for the money.

Yeah, can't be bothered to wait for ages. Think I will try something else.

I have emailed flightcasewarehouse about some matching cases for my Vigiers and if they are not REALLY heavy I might go for some of those. You can get em' with wheels on, too...

I can look longingly at your case on Sunday!
I've used the Ibanez Double bag a while now and I like it a lot, but be advised don't let it stand on its own and if you prop it up , make sure the wheels are not the point of support or it the wheels will spin off and cause the bag to fall. It has a problem standing up, otherwise I have no other issues with it so far.
s'wat I said :)
