Yeah, I'll see if I can swing it. Not sure how much it'll cost and no way of telling how much £ we'll have spare (spending a lot on some neat developments here on site). Perhaps I can blag a free table somewhere!

Fair point it could be pricey to have a stand but you may get some of the money back selling BC merchandise.

Maybe just sneak in a large basschat poster, and post on here that anyone at the show can meet up there every hour. It'll publicise the site too.

I'm speaking to BGM this week so I'll get dibs on a table early. Probably have some free stuff, some merch, a bass or two and a cattle prod to scare off Dood when he overstays his welcome. Perhaps also a laptop so we can force people to sign up on the spot. Or else.

Rats! I'd been looking forward to the LBGS but gig and rehearsal duties got in the way. :(
Hope to make it to the next one. :)
I like the sound of a BC stand - finances allowing, of course.
Good idea. Certainly a reason to come for another year.

Aw, you should have said something. Was that you sitting to my left (actually come to think of it it must have been, because there was a woman sitting to my right! ).

Also got into random conversations with a couple of people who admired my bag (it's got 'E-A-D-G, Right?' on it).
Ah yes, twas you . Hey ho. Next year perhaps

+1. I think a BC stand would be a good idea.

Me too, I think this would be good. I'd definitely buy some merch.

Just coffee with a mate and were discussing the potential of a BC stand at LGBS and we came up with this idea; If you have something you want to sell, bring it to the stand, pay a 'showing' fee, have it at a set price or have an auction type arena (bids in an envelope maybe). Just a thought, it'd certainly help some of the other exhibitors as, if you sold your kit, you'd have wonga to splash on their stands. Might be a bit complex to administer though, but as I said, just a thought.

Really like that idea. The bids bit could be complicated but there's no reason why we couldn't have some stuff brought by members to sell. Only thing is I'm not sure how the organisers would feel about it, some shows prefer you to be selling new gear and sometimes you aren't actually able to buy at all at the show itself (think that was the situation last year?)

Thanks for the suggestion though, if it's allowed I think it's a good plan!

Even if you were not allowed to sell secondhand stuff I guess you could let people have there gear displayed on the stand (for a fee) for people to try and contact details of each owner so a potential buyer and the seller could hammer out a deal privately.

only problem would be if the bass was knocked while on display. Say it was in mint condition but a kid dropped it and then you would have to take a chunk off your price through no fault of your own.

How many would take this risk?

I think I've seen a couple of second hand instruments (advertised as such) for sale at a stand this year. Can't remember which stand though.

Yeah I think I did too, come to think of it.
Wasn't that Bass Gear?

Would the stand be pro or against slapping?
:D :D :D
