Ordering From the US

Hi guys

A quick question to you all -

I'm going to order a bass from the US and just wanted to know how much are the Fee's for having it into the Uk, You know like the customs and that, it was just stated that the seller does not pay for the customs fee or something, so i'd just like some clearing up on that as well as a price.

17.5 percent on anything over £18 or something not far off.

Purchase price & carriage + 3.7% then VAT 20% + approx £12 customs - IIRC

Wow, so it's not really cheaper buying abroad is it then ?

Depends what you're buying, I find that generally it is. Every time I've bought from the US it's worked out cheaper even after all the UK taxes.

Well im ordering the bass from the us at £700 inc P&P but i just realised now that at the bottom they have said they are not going to be liable for any customs charges when sent abroad, oh and im not good with numbers at all

You'll need to add the customs handling charge which varies from one handler to another.

That's correct except that it's purchase price plus carriage [u]plus insurance[/u] if you have any.

I was reckoning on insurance being in with the carriage but you're right if it's not inclusive.
