jim_bass
I have always used Gibson USA straps http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...uct=gbsasgsbu20 They are soft and thin but strong. I like to be able to slide the bass around on my shoulder. Leather ones pull your clothes when you try and move your bass. I occasionally chuck my bass behind my back if I'm just singing and this helps give me a bit of freedom. Oh and I use schaller straplocks, http://www.giggear.co.uk/p/Schaller-Strap-Locks/

I use a Neotech Mega Axe Strap (apparently "makes your instrument feel up to 50% lighter"!).

Jono Bolton
I've got plain black Dimarzio Clip Lock straps on both my basses. I had a 3" one but didn't like the look, so now I use the 2" version.
7string
After looking around for something special to go with the 9, I came across this site: http://www.dslstraps.com.au/ They do have a distributor in the UK, who can get you whatever's on the site. My wife's told me that she organised for me to have the 3 1/2" saddle brown leather with lime green suede backing, for Valentine's Day (although it might be a little late as it's one of the only colours not in the UK at the moment). Absolutely great, wouldn't trade it for anything. Not on the website, but definitely a DSL, came with a pick holder for your keyring and a leather Motorhead wristband type thing. Dubs
I use a comfort strap with Dunlop strap locks. It’s a good combo

Alex
Tart I use a Comfort Strapp, but I remove the extra bit off the top end cos otherwise I find the plastic D is right on my shoulder making it really not comfortable. Mind you I wear my bass around my ears according to some

PauBass
I'm using Comfort Straps with Schaller straplocks, they work fine for me and make my 70's Jazz Bass feel lighter. I'm thinking of trying a Brooklyn Gear strap but I can't seem to find them... for those who own one: where did you get it from, please? ped
I got mine from Stringbusters. It is more 'substantial' than a Comfort Strapp and less 'bouncy' so it works well with really heavy basses. Cheers ped http://www.stringbusters.com/frameset.asp?...ROOKLYN%20GEAR/
GreeneKing
I just did a search for Marvel straplocks following finding them attached to my Overwater. I'm a fan, and very reasonably priced too. The locking mechanism only prevents the male slipping out of the female bit (macho fnaa comments go in here) and isn't load bearing as suggested above. I thought they'd be far more expensive. I'd also vote for Comfort Strapps as opposed to Brooklyn Gear in that Brooklyn gear, and the Bass Collection derivative have been known to fail at the plastic links. To the guy that chops the end off to prevent the buckle digging in, do you realise that both the holes are meant to be used? thinman
Arab. There, must have beaten BBC to that. (If that's anything to be proud of).
Jarhead
I now use this really long leathergraft(craft?) strap on my Schecter, ends up slightly lower then my man fruits, but I play with my fingers on the Schecter so I have enough reach to cover all the strings easily. Very comfortable, even though it isn't very wide or thick, and I have a couple of those Grolsch washers as straplocks. Zach
josh3184
I want to know how many people at one part fo their bass playing career have used one of those tribal black and white levis straps. I've seen too many to count
