tom123
I already use a boss LS-2 to blend my clean with my effects chain however i want to have a 3 way blend of clean and 2 effected signals all blended together - effectivly a tri-amp setup but i don't fancy carting 3 amps around. I was thinking of buying a second LS-2 and using one to blend my 2 effects chains and then using the other to blend the chains with my clean. Or i was considering getting something like this:http://www.woundedpaw.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=152 Does anyone know any other similar blenders? Or should i just get a second LS-2? Thanks
lxxwj
I'm pretty sure xotic has a dual blend of some sort. For a 3 way blend, you'd probably have to get it custom built. http://martoneaudio.com/Home.htm This guy can probably do it for you, easily. xgsjx
How's your soldering skills? I made an effects loop/2 channel mixer pedal & the schematic I used was for a 3 channel. bobbass4k
Wounded paw does a range of blenders, they do a simple 4 channel mixer in stompbox format up to really complicated parrallel loopers with phase options and all sorts.
phil.i.stein
i bought a used Wounded Paw 4-channel mlender on here a few weeks ago, as i had too many noise issues using two LS-2's. it's a great bit of kit, with the added bonus of 4 different colured LEDs (how cute is that ? )
cheddatom
I use a barge concepts blender to blend clean in with the rest of my board which is mostly two chains through an LS-
tom123
Ok, i think i might have a go at building one from scratch before i fork out £150 for a new wounded paw blender and i can't find any used ones going on here or ebay at the moment. Would it be possible for me to add individual volume controls for each loop? Thanks
xgsjx
Yes.
gillento
sfx is your way to go!
aldude
You could do it by using two 2-channel blenders. Use one blender to blend two signals, and use the second blender to blend the third signal with the first blender output. Probably cheaper than a custom 3-way blender. EDIT: oops, did not read the OP properly! This was your original suggestion - I would go with that as one more LS-2 would be much cheaper and I can't see any drawback other than space. tom123
Yeah my only worry is whether there will be too much noise using two LS-2s
xgsjx
It cost me less than £20 to make that pedal & what you're wanting could be done in a smaller box.
cheddatom
hmmm, I am sceptical about the effectiveness of a passive blender like that. What do you have in your chains xgsjx? Any problems with levelling? I just spent >£100 on a SFX pedal which will give me two loops independantly, or the two blended together, with no volume difference between the 4 settings (Dry, A, B, A+B ) and I would like to think it was worth it, but maybe not? xgsjx
Being passive, I think I lose about 25-30% (though I haven't checked this). I have a volume on the A/B switch to balance between loop or bypass. Going into the mixer section, if one channel is off the other does not increase in volume, so makes no odds as I just increase the input gain to compensate. So everything is easily balanced to be the same volume regardless of what is or isn't on.
