Have you noticed?

No less than three bands (including ours - guilty as charged) were practicing this last night, and that's just at the practice room place we use (The Depot in Edinburgh).

I blame the acoustic version!

I'm trying to push for a stripped down reggae version of it, should spice it up a little :)

I'd never heard this number until we had to learn it for a function just before Christmas. It was easy to learn and play and I liked it. The audience went mad for it, so I'd suggest it's a great number for a cover band.

Very weird, over the weekend I was looking for a song to learn to show my 6-year old so he can play along (on his keyboard at the mo, but the bass is sitting there waiting its day), and out of the blue I decided Price Tag would be good.

It might be the phase of the moon, or something in the water...

What is this strange song of which you all speak?

This :)

My covers band doesn't do it and never will. Our singer point blank refuses. Good for her I say.

We're not all so lucky, Marvin :)

You say that but you haven't seen/heard some of the crap she does want to do :)

I'd quite willingly play it if...it was because I was in Jessie J's band :gas: .
Otherwise any time I've heard a cover of it it hasn't really worked very well.

Ha. We thought we were being "cutting edge" by learning this one, but apparently not! Seems like you're all doing it.

We've also just put in "Pounding" by Doves and "Sweet Disposition" by Temper Trap. They work quite well along side the usual Chilis and Foos stuff.

oh. some shallow pop nonsense then.

I think Jessie J is preferable to a lot of the crap out there night now. her music does exactly what it says on the tin.

We do it as part of a medley. dropped it for a while...but it has crept back in.
I enjoy it. Muting strings and it's a great one for testing your tightness with the bashy one in the band.

What took you so long? We learnt it for a music festival last summer. Still use it for the odd party gig, the punters seem to like it. I think it's quite enjoyable to play, secret is not to overdo it.

I guess if we were talking about Blue In Green or Straight No Chaser rather than Price Tag, the sheep would all be wearing berets..? ;)
