no doubt a silly question.

Ok ive only recently got a setup with valves in. I have an svp preamp into an ada power amp. I can get a really nice overdriven tone by making the peak/mute light come on.

My question is am i damaging the preamp by doing this? Will i break the valves? i have read lots about getting an overdriven sound from a valve amp but if its ok to do then why is there the light?

you won't damage the preamp in the slightest. i think the light's there so that you know if you're not getting a clean tone.
