benthos
Evenin' all, Just out of curiosity... I run two 1 x 12s - an Aguilar NS112 on top of an NS112NT and a Genz Benz Shuttle 6. I really like the sound and portability and have no burning desire to change anything, but would anything be gained/lost sonically by swapping the bottom cab for a 15? Obvious downside re: weight/size. Anyone out there gigging with a 1x15 + 1x12 setup?
xgsjx
Not tried it but.... Upside: If it's a bigger cab, then you might get more bottom end & move more air. Downside: Different size driver/make of cab etc, could cause frequency issues where you lose certain notes as each cab cancels the other out. Either or: Might drastically alter your sound. Lozz196
I had a Barefaced Compact (15) and Midget (12) and they sounded great together, but then Alex, the designer of Barefaced Cabs, designed them so that the two can be paired together without any of the problems that xgsjx mentions. Depth from the Compact, bite and aggression from the Midget. A great combination.

chris_b
I'm assuming you meant to type GS112? I think you would loose sonically because a 15 would sound different to your current cab, which you like. Those 12's put out a lot of nice bass so, with the exception of a BF Compact, I'm not sure that a 15 would do any better.

The setup I have now does seem to work very well for my purposes.
