Yes - I had to go on a special 3-day course to learn how. We had practicals and videos, and we got to practise with each other.

Re..Cancelled rehearsals...
Rehearsed with one band in a local girls school which unfortunately involved taking gear through a canteen area and up a flight of stairs (Not ideal but free). The Drummer had a habit of turning up late and true to form,he calls "Im gonna be a bit late,ive left my cymbals in my driveway and have to go back to get them" he turns up an hour later having walked through the school,treading dog crap which hed acquired in the car park?.The Caretaker asked us to leave and we never heard from the drummer again.
