pikeman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) I've owned this amp since the 1960's but it's just not getting used apart from home practice. It's a mark 2 in full working order and PAT tested last year when it had a service. Sought after much more by guitarists but so underrated as a bass amp. For "only" 50 watts, she kicks out a lot of volume with a good 8 ohm cab. A lovely warm valve tone but with lots of top end if you bridge the inputs. Probably not the prettiest example but very collectable and could be restored to it's former glory. I've seen these advertised for silly money so really don't want to put a price on it, hence the trade. It's worth what you think it is . I'd be interested in trading for a Jazz bass but open to all offers.W.H.Y? It's time for the old girl to move on and be used. I'd prefer pick up but willing to courier at buyers expense. Will now consider straight sale £275 plus carriage. Edited February 23, 2012 by pikeman
pikeman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 I've found a really good video on Youtube which gives you some idea of the sound of the Selmer with a bass. Plenty of videos about for guitar use. A very versatile amp and a very loud 50 watts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFxQlfd4PDg
pikeman Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Just to make this a little more interesting, I'll sell this for the price of a Squier CV jazz. Tell your guitar playing friends.
pikeman Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 I've had several offers but nothing concrete. Will now sell for £300 and willing to courier at buyers expense.
pikeman Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Final price drop to £275 plus carriage. I'll hang on to it or Ebay it if it doesn't sell on here. Still up for trades though.
pikeman Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Circumstances have changed, no longer looking for a Jazz but would consider trades for a lightweight amp head. W.H.Y ?
