I thinks it's the lower spec jap pickup version The body is pretty battered due to a previous owner and I'd like it to look better. It would probably need to go back to bare wood Can anyone advise: Is it likely a nitro finish ? Will a polyester respray look much different ? Quote is £150 Should I just get another, preferably jap, sunburst body ? Brandoni £130 What would you do ? Geek99 Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 Short version is , I chipped off a little paint fitting pickups, person before me managed to lose a big chunk of paint/lacquer down to the wood on lower bout then sprayed with car paint. Needs sanding back to make it ok Quote

Yes, it will look different as Nitro has it's own 'look'. Personally, I would just let it age and in 10 years it will probably be worth a fortune It is a personal thing. I don't like artifical worn basses. Ones that get there naturally are superb. I would not refinish any of my basses as they are what they are. I understand why you want to and therefore, go for it!
