winterfire666
hello all, iv just snapped up a lovely Washburn AB20 acoustic bass on ebay for only £95!!! i have never had an acoustic bass before and so i dont know where to start for strings. do i go for phospher bronze, half wounds, flatwounds etc,and any advise on gauges would be great too. i usually like quite a bright tone but it must be comfortable to play (not too much tension) i play mainly fingerstyle rock/metal stuff. hope someone can help, thanks in advance. markbass555
Ernie Ball Phosphor Bronze are the ones I have been using on my Godin A4 for the last couple of years. They have great sustain and a nice balance of low and bright tone. Edited February 16, 2012 by markbass555
