nottswarwick
Ok? I've got a Roland td9kx drum set. The brain has midi out. Also use a Focusrite saffire 6 USB which has midi connections too. I run this into a MacBook pro via USB, into the full version of logic. So, how do I take a midi feed from the td brain, into the Focusrite and then get the midi drum singles into logic, to appear as a drum track in ultra beat or whatever? crez5150
I guess you would just record the MIDI data and then assign that data in logic to ultra beat. You would probably need a MIDI map of the kit though.
plumbob
Easy way to do this would be to get a midi to usb lead , and take the midi out from the brain . and put the usb into the macbook. Select software instrument in logic and trigger whatever from drums either to play live or record midi data and playback. Make sure you have selected the usb port in mac preferences and logic preferences. You maybe able to go via saffire via the provided focusrite software , but sorry not up to date with this model. Hope that helps !
BigRedX
You would probably need a MIDI map of the kit though.
Unless you are using weird pad/sound assignments both the Roland Kit and Ultrabeat should be using the standard GM note/drum sound defaults.
