Matt_UK
Hey guys, looks like Darryl Jones sigs are back in at Lakland - and in an interesting charcoal colour too... Guessing they sorted out their differences? shizznit
So glad that they brought them back into production. Probably my fav model. Still waiting for Lakland to produce a 24 fret bass.
woodyratm
Very pretty. Lakland do orange finishes? I've never seen an orange Lakky before! Also that blue/purple is ace.
rapscallion
Markus Orange looks great, would like to see a full bass though This isn't helping my Lakland GAS
tredders
They look great. I'm a big fan of Laklands - just wish I'd never sold my Bob Glaub!
dave_bass5
Its a shame i never really got on with mine when i had it, i do now regret selling it. Not keen on the Skyline colours though, i still prefer the Black sparkle Edited February 21, 2012 by dave_bass5

Linus27
I still fancy a natural Lakland Darryl Jones someday.

risingson
Best Jazz basses in that price bracket IMO. I wouldn't dream of getting rid of my DJ4, although I would really love to add a DJ5 to my setup. My only wish is that Lakland would do a bit more in the way of interesting finishes. Rumple
Odd that they stopped making them for a while. I do like Laklands (owned a JO5) especially the look of the DJ but I prefer narrower string spacing so alas I'll probably never own one of these.
I'm not totally clued up but I believe there was some conflict concerning the licensing of the body shape from A-Basses who originally came up with the slight offset look of the body. Muzz
Just got a Skyline DJ4, and it's so much better than any Fender Jazz I've had. Very very nice indeed - the US ones must be sublime.
Weirdly - I tried a DJ4 US at the same time as a DJ4 Skyline. I preferred the feel and tone of the skyline. Don't Lakland get the parts built in far east then assemble in Chicago? Muzz
Yeah, that's my understanding. Interesting that you preferred the Skyline, though - that's cheered me up no end
dave_bass5
I believe the Skylines are made in the Cort Factory, same as many other good mid range basses, and then have the hardware and electrics added in Chicago.
woodyratm
Just goes to show that price means nothing to a good instrument My lakland is a much better player than any fender i've tried (except a horrible gold one with amber hardware i tried once to test a pedal...that was a REALLY nice bass!) scalpy
Hmmm, does my back pay go on one of these (DJ5 Skyline Blue) or an engagement ring...? Decisions decisions....
