fryer
I can't find a case for my newly acquired bass so I'm going to make one. The bass is a Hagstrom Viking, semi acoustic, so a large but slim body ( the bass, not me ) . I'm gonna use MDF for the top and bottom, and softwood for the edges, routed to take the MDF. Question is, where should I support the bass ? The back of the body will rest on its back, and I was thinking of putting one support under the, say, first fret. Does ths seam reasonable ? Mikey R
MDF is going to be dead heavy. Plywood would give you the same strength for way less weight.
fryer
I would like to add some photos, but the 'attach file' button is greyed out - how do I add a photo ?
EdwardHimself
you've probably uploaded more data than you're allowed. You should use a pic hosting site like imageshack, or even facebook will do.
discreet
MDF is going to be dead heavy. Or you could get this one from Gear4Music: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Hagstrom-B62-Viking-Hagcase-Bass-Guitar-Case/GWS Edited March 3, 2012 by discreet
yorks5stringer
Don't forget to use a mask with MDF... as you should with any wood.
Alex Spencer
Glass fibre all the way. Although I understand that this isn't an easy option for most people... Having a case maker for a father has made this a little easier for me!
