[/quote] I'll admit that when I first saw the title I feared it was about political correctness. Have you found the first typo yet? Usually occurs on the very first page you pick at random when you open your first copy for the first time!

mart
Wasn't it Miles Davis that said that typos don't matter in jazz ...

I got the 'your order has been despatched' email this morning. Actually, I thought it had arrived a couple of days ago when I got an unexpected package from Amazon. However, when I opened it turned out to be a copy of 'Fifty Sheds of Grey', a joke present from my brother-in-law. Oh well....
Bilbo
I haven't ordered it so wouldn't have got that email, Len . But it is nice to know that the whole process works!
Bilbo
I just got told that Mr. P.C. Haas been nominated for the 2012 Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research. If I had any idea what that meant, I would be thrilled! Bilbo
Amazon have sold out but you can still get it at Waterstones http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/rob+palmer/mr-+p-c-/8845560/ It is interesting to see how these things move forward, though. I still get the impression that the world of book doesn't quite know what to do with a Jazz bass player's biography! 'Best order 3 copies and then see what happens' kind of thing. I know of about 7 copies having been purchased which makes me about 35p richer!! Watch out Vinnie Fodera, here I come!
KevB
I would expect quite a lot of public libraries might pick up copies though? I don't know how they go about their book purchases and I assume they probably get them at a discount? 51m0n
My brother-in-law is a book buyer for the regions libraries. Maybe I should let him know about this one Bilbo?

sarah thomas
Do we have a competition winner? I saw Rob's book at a mutual friend's but didn't have chance for more than a flick-through. I happily accept Julian's endorsement of it as 'really well written and very interesting'.
