Commercial Member plasson Posted April 8, 2008 Commercial Member Posted April 8, 2008 For sale is a Modulus Vintage Jazz with black body and pickguard with the following specs: * 34" scale * 21 frets * alder body * carbon fiber neck * composite fingerboard * Aguilar OBP-1 preamp * Bartolini pickups * Gotoh tuners * equiped with Hipshot D-Tuner * Dunlop strap lock (factory standard) wich allow the player to wear the bass either with a common or a Dunlop security lock equiped strap the most "worn out" part is the pickguard (wich could easily be replaced with a Fender Jazz's one: the basses are aesthetically identical). I took shots of the main scratches. comes with original Modulus hardshell case (two feets and a corner are broken, but I can still stand horizontally and the instrument security is no way compromised by that), hex wrenches and Modulus User Manual. the instrument has a unique tone and specs. I pics on request. available for rehersals. THE ITEM IS IN ITALY cell.: +393338129590 price is 2100€ / 1650£
molan Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Might be worth checking UK prices - as has been recently pointed out to me the list price for a stock VJ in the UK is only £1,250 (although you have the OBP which would add a bit to the value). Even in perfect condition this would be about 25% more than the cost of a brand new VJ.

TimmyC Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I don't think he's trying to scam anyone, just out of touch with the list price.

How do people have the blxxdy nerve to offer stuff for sale like this? Above new price!!! In this case a similar bass is offered at half this guy's asking price at:- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16271 Is'nt it time that the modulators of this forum stopped newbies from posting for sale ad's? How about making it possible for only BCers with three stops and more being able to post items for sale? What say you all - polite replies only please
Yeah, I wish we could all live in communal Hippydom Man, and not have chuffing rules, BUT it does look like we need to put a bit more of a qualifying process in before anyone can post a For Sale item. Mind you, this s a VERY savvy forum and I can't think we have too many members who can't spot a dodgy enticement.

This thread isn't an appropriate place for you to stir up dissent - particularly against the seller.
