JTUK
Now..strangely, I find that very interesting from a design POV. I am pretty sure I wouldn't go near one playing-wise, but I'd like to hang that on a wall in the house somewhere.
cocco
I'm intrigued by these too. One p/u per string must be pretty interesting.
BigRedX
They look good from a distance and in the photos. However IME when you examine the close-up the fit and finish (certainly on the models I've looked at) isn't too great. Also once you look beyond the faux-retro bling you'll see that they've been thrown together from standard off the shelf parts. Being a brand associated with Trevor Wilkinson, the parts are decent quality, but IMO not always visually appropriate. Compared with the other guitar manufacturers doing updates on retro styled instruments Italia are better than Eastwood, but a long way short of Hallmark. Leon Transaxle
Haven't seen one in the flesh but to me it looks like an interesting reinterpretation of a P. I thought I liked everything about it but, having followed the link to DV24 I see that the body is covered in Tolex rather than painted, which I'm not so sure about and really would have to see. Also I'm trying to see what the knobs look like. A bit lost in all the blue. My eyes aren't as good as the used to be but are they some variation on a chicken-head? I have always fancied one of theItalia 'burst Riminis.
BigRedX
Only the Tipo 1 is covered in Tolex. The Tipo 3 has a more "normal" sparkle lacquer finish. Knobs look like Strat types to me.
Cosmo Valdemar
I love the look of these, never seen or heard one though. Excellent design.
RhysP
Horrible headstock & looks cheap IMO Looks like something you'd get out of a Kinder Egg.

icastle
I suspect that if Scott Tracey was a bass player he'd have one of these...

Nowadays you tend to get a 'collectable' ornament that does nothing but stand on a shelf. Of course, I haven't bought a Kinder egg for many years but I have a Niece and Nephew who are quite taken with them. They probably cost about £1.50 now. spinynorman
There was an Italia in the studio last time we recorded. I had a try and wasn't impressed with it. Too much bling and not enough substance.
Gust0o
Yeah, it's all frigging collectibles in the Kinder Eggs these days. Just gash. Nothing like they used to be.
Chris Horton
I like the body shape and I like the look of the pickups and tuners. The headstock shape does not work for me. The bass looks like it was put together by 3 people who each wanted to have a go at bass building and one of them was a precision bass fan Over all I like the look , I wonder what it sounds like:)
TheGreek
Not over-keen on the colour TBH and as others have said, the headstock... Wasn't there a sparkly gold one for sale here a while back - or was it eBay?? As for Kinder eggs - didn't people buy these for the free plectrum holder?? Alex Tootstick
Played one in rosyth at kennys music. Only had it down for a minute out of intrigue the cracked leather looking plastic finish feels and looks really cheap. Never plugged it in but it felt pretty crappy in my hands. Haven't seen one before or since but for this post.
