simon1964
+1 to all that McNach has said in his post. I've got the 3 band East pre-amp in my Stingray. Its a fantastic bit of kit. The treble and bass controls really do replicate those on the tradition two band 'ray. But the mid sweep is the big plus. It really has turned my 'ray into a very versatile bass. I can't recommend it highly enough.
paul_5
Another +1 for the East kit - honestly, it can change everything about the sound of your bass in a really positive way, or it can just add a tickle of whatever you fancy. My East pre is the single best thing I bought last year - superb.
Gunsfreddy2003
Going to go for the East MM pre-amp after talking to John (top man), hoping to get this in the next 7-10 days. If still not satisfied I may look to change the p/up to a Nordstrand as also suggested but think one step at a time is most sensible. Darkstrike
I have a Nordstrand pickup combined with the East MMSR 3 band/3 knob, together they seem a bit dark(but I suppose that's what the EQ is for), it's not much of a problem for me outside of the B string, really, gets quite boomy. I did try a Glockenklang 2 band pre with the Nordstrand, and they are a great match, but that East mid sweep stack is a beast of a tool, and I missed it sometimes. I have a Delano Ferrite pickup on order to try with the East Pre, see how they match up.
