Not seen one of these before. I like the look of this. I do wonder how many ended up as "Genuine" Fender P's with Pasted on Logo's, to "appear in lofts" on ebay. Neck could pass as a genuine fender.

I bought one of these new when they came out - the fretted version and haven't seen one since.
It was a very good Precision copy and compared well with my friend's genuine '60s Fender.
I didn't have it long - traded it for a new Wal, but that's another story...

Tokai had the "Hard Puncher", Yamaha had the "Pulser", and Aria had the "Primary". This looks like a PB500. These featured either a three- or four-piece sen ash body, with either a one- or two-piece maple neck, measuring between 40.0mm and 40.5mm at the nut. Whatever the vendor says, the pickups are not DiMarzio, but DiMarzio clones. This one is a '78, made, as everyone can see, at the Matsumoku factory. Can't agree with his assertion that these are rare. Made in huge quantities. Common as in Asia.

I bought a fretted/sunburst one of these last weekend through Gumtree, Reading (in fact it was a job lot, a bass, two guitars and a Park practice amp for £50...yup, £50).

Aside from the faults...it's got dings a plenty, was badly set up, dead strings, broken volume pot...once I'd given the truss rod a tweak, put on some new strings and given it a set up, it was surprisingly nice. The output is off the scale, so high. It has aftermarket Schaller machines on it as well. I've put on Dunlop Straploks and I'm just waiting for new pots and a couple of knurled control knobs and I can screw it back together again.

Nice - that was a bargain!.. I DARE you to put a fake fender logo on it, take a sander to it and advertise it on ebay as a rare roadworn '69 that was found in in a loft... :D
