Mace
Pushed the button on this yesterday from Bass Direct, just arrived and can't wait to fire her up later!
Bigwan
Streamliners are great sounding amps - I found the 600 I tried to be a little lacking in overall headroom and punch compared to my Orange Terror Bass, but I would LOVE to hear how the 900 compares because it sure is a fat, juicy and versatile preamp (I would point out that my experiences were at STUPID volumes in a room I wasn't familiar with so it may have been me!). Bought blind on the strength of plenty of good reviews online (and Ed Friedland's vids too!), headroom is why I went for the 900 in the end, not alot of difference in price either... dmccombe7
I have the 600 with 2 berg 12's in a classic rock band where guitarist has a Marshall stack driven by Marshall pre-amp and a 600W power amp. The 600 typically runs at 12 o'clock on the Gain, vol and master vol with the gain boost ON. Bass @ 1 o'clock Mid @ 2-3 o'clock on 600Hz Treble runs flat Its more than enough for me so i reckon you won't go wrong with the 900. Just remember to secure yourself to something solid before playing All the best with the new amp. Mark at Bass Direct is a great guy to deal with. Wish all shops were that good. Keep us posted on what you find. Dave Edited February 28, 2012 by dmccombe7
dave_bass5
I think the 900 is a better bet, especially if you want a clean tone. I had the 600 and was quite surprised to see the overload LED on the power stage come on quite a bit. I know this isnt a real problem but it did seem strange, especially as the input level was low. I would be worried about louder gigs.

Mace
Oof! Just had a bit of a rip at "spare bedroom levels", very, very loud through my Compact without getting silly on the volume knob Looking forward to having a proper turn up on Thursday at rehearsal but first impressions are excellent, great range of tones with a minimum of fuss = winner! Mace
Will post up how I get on! The real juicy juicy will be once my Super 12 arrives in exchange for my current Compact, got to get some custom earplugs made up ASAP, my current generic ones aren't up to it and hate that muted feeling after practice or gigs... PTB
I got a 900 from Mark just after Christmas but haven't been able to gig it yet - very frustrating! The big day is 23 March - can't wait!

Mace
Blimey! In my experience and on occasion, half decent kit can make playing easier/more fun/more pleasant/more "je ne sais quoi"... but in terms of my own sound and ability to be heard, that was the most enjoyable rehearsal ever tonight The band were very loud as always but the Streamliner had plenty more to give so didn't need to overly crank the volume up. Even if I do say so myself, my G&L sounded exquisite through it! "Effortless" is probably the best word I can use to describe it Really looking forward to gigging the amp for the first time on Saturday, was told a couple of weeks ago at the same venue that I was way too quiet so will see what the view is this time, I don't think I'll have the same problem, plus I'm feeling very confident about sounding much better too... I was pushing my power amp so hard to be heard I sounded filthy, and not in a good way Very, very happy with my purchase so far, if you're thinking about taking the plunge and buying one, don't hesitate and do it! [/quote] The Streamliner 900 and Super 12t are just superb together sonically. They really reinforce each other strengths. I tried WoT's amp with my cab at a bass bash last year, and it put my Eden WT 550 in the shade a bit. Damn. Regretted doing that ever since. wateroftyne
Lots of Streamliner love here. Remember, one of the keys to this amp is never to be afraid to roll the lows off...
