AD200 question

Does anyone run KT88s in an AD200? Does it make much of a difference?

Naah, they have 6550's as stock, but you can put KT88's in as well, if desired.
And no, I don't run KT88's.

Ermmmm no. I still have the 6550s it came with, I know im due a re valve soon though and wondered if the KT88s would change the tone at all? I know the Matamp GT200 comes with KT88s in it and is quite a similar amp, to look at any way.

Cheap KT88s and 6550 are probably pretty close to each other. Main tone difference will depend on how hard you push it, because that determines how clean the power section is running.

I run mine pretty hard to be honest. I have a dirty driven sound provided by my sansamp and running the gain fairly high.

That is all preamp dirty though, its the output stage that you have to work to benefit from the fancy valves there.
