dub
I've seen a lot of good write ups on the catalinbread sft. Where can you get these in the UK? I've tried a lot of digital and analog OD and amp simulators and they all have a bit of a nasty fizz to them which a real overdriven tube amp doesn't, so I hoping that this might do the business. LukeFRC
no idea, I built my own copy, and while i doubt it is as good, it is very very good. highly recommended
dannybuoy
Just order it from Tonefactor in the US, it will be cheaper than anywhere you might happen to find it in the UK. I recommend you get an 18v adaptor for it too, I use a Diago 9-18v converter tip on my daisy chain. benthos
Try Vintage and Rare in London, mate. For some reason they're very rarely 'in stock' on the web site but worth calling them. Last time I saw one in there it was £150, which should give yuo a prcie to compare against Tonefactor.
GregHughes
There are loads of places in the states selling them on Ebay, around £130 shipped.
dub
Ta for the replies. I'll check those out for a good price. Just one other question how is the effect for noise? There's bound to be a bit on a high drive setting but on a low gain setting is there much increase in background hiss?
dannybuoy
Not much at all, much quieter than the VT Bass anyway! I recommend ordering from ToneFactor. Edited March 1, 2012 by dannybuoy
