How about a Northern upright bash on Saturday 7th April?

Bassace has a gig that night in Boston Spa, it's just off the A1 near Wetherby.

I could have a word with the venue or find another maybe in Harrogate

I couldn't get to the bash because I'm with the band transport and won't be up there until just before gig time. There was a bash at Northampton some time ago in a convenient hotel with a large car park. Bit more central. Any interest in that? At least it's closer to Canterbury.

That's a shame Roger

Sod it then, let's all go to Canterbury, we could all stay at Beedsters :)

In all seriousness i could easily set something up in Canterbury, in Medway, or possibly in Surrey (M25-land) but any further afield I'd require help. I'll post this in the other thread or it could get messy :)

I've got 2 gigs on the 7th, so no from me. I'm happy enough to do something in the south east though, Mrs Rev's mum lives in Hampshire,so I can drop her off on the way.

I'd love to see Mrs Beedster's face when 47 blokes and their doubles basses turn up for tea

And one woman with her double bass.

There's something rather elegant about holding the Yorkshire Bass in Canterbury :)

Yes, only in England!

I'd be up for doing something

I don't know if 7th April is a good date, I was hoping to tie it in with meeting Bassace but he's travelling up with his band just before his gig at Boston Spa so won't have any spare time.

Wednesday 11 April to Sunday 22 April are good for me and I'm happy to travel during that time too. Outside of those dates and it would be a lot easier no further north than the Midlands.

This thread http://basschat.co.uk/topic/73093-double-bass-setup-and-lessons-bristol/page__st__20 is talking about a DB workshop in Bristol. Maybe the two threads could join forces? (Or is that three threads - Yorkshire, Canterbury and Bristol. Maybe we should just take over a small hotel for the weekend?)
