Clarky
I am going to have a go at arco but am without a bow. The ones on the web seem to be generally ultra-cheap or eye-wateringly expensive. Does anyone have an OK bow in good shape, preferably with quiver and rosin (as I'm too lazy to source everything separately!) Up to £100 budget (obviously the cheaper the better, as long as OK quality). Can do paypal or bank transfer Edited March 4, 2012 by Clarky
Happy Jack
How about the bow you gave me with the [s]Anton Arthur Alan [/s]Andreas Zeller DB last year? I'll sell it back to you for the princely sum of ... erm ... nowt. Come and get it, mate.
Mr Bassman
French or German pattern? Makes a difference how you hold the bow and the bass. If you stand with the bass sideways on you probably need a French. If you sit or stand behind the bass you might like the German style. [/quote] Thanks Keith, I didn't realise that Jack would happily hand back my old (basically unused) bow. I have an audition coming up and the intro to a couple of songs requires long arco strokes on the E and A strings. I stand sideways on so I guess that makes it French

Happy Jack
The only box I have that would take that is probably far larger than you'd want to use.

Clarky
Thanks Keith, the bass in the band in question is a lot more demanding than Rattlin Bone (faster, busier) so we will see. Its a really good band though so fingers crossed
