Lazybass
Hi, I wonder if anyone can confirm this for me: I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 head (375w @8ohms, 600w @4ohms); I am thinking of getting 2 GK cabs (115MBX and 210MBX), both rated 200w @8ohms. If I set the master volume at just below 12 o'clock, will it work well either with 1 or 2 cabs ? Will the head feed the cab(s) properly and not damage them ? Thanks. chrismuzz
If you run the amp at full power you run the risk of overloading and damaging the amp or cabs, of course. You may get it to work fine, as long as you make absolutely sure you don't allow the speakers to distort (you'll probably be able to hear this)... But since the head is almost twice as powerful as the cabs are rated for, I personally wouldn't want to risk it mate. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though! Tankdave
It should be fine, just don't run the amp full on flat out, use your ears to make sure the cabs don't run into distortion and farting and no showing off how loud it goes stuff, that'll blow the cabs for sure Edited March 8, 2012 by Tankdave
dave_bass5
Wow, what's this doing in the iBass magazine sub forum? Should get it moved to a relevant one like amps and cabs forum so more people will see it.
