gub
Just a thought but how feasible woul it be to add a p pickup to a jazz bass and still keep the jazz pickups , they would have to go between I suppose if there was room .
discreet
My 2p: Major PITA and would possibly devalue your jazz, IMHO... If you need a P sound occasionally, get a Vintage or a Squier P... excellent excuse to buy another bass! And you'll be able to join in with all the interminable P crap on here! geoffbyrne
Replace neck pup with DiMarzio Model J wired in series - as near as it gets without routing. G.
jezzaboy
I recently looked into gettin a P pickup put in place of the neck pickup. It was gonna cost 40 for labour-the routing and wiring, 40 ish for a custom scratchplate and around 50 for a pickup. In the end up I swapped the Jazz for a P on here. Why not make a Berry Oakley Tractor bass? Now that would be something! LawrenceH
[quote name='geoffbyrne' timestamp='1331149126' post='1568576'] Replace neck pup with DiMarzio Model J wired in series - as near as it gets without routing. brensabre79
Or you could just put a series/parallel switch in (push pull vol pot or Fender S-1 switch) with your existing pickups and you won't be far off
