geoffbassist
£385 for a new 410. Delivered. That's a great deal!
Musicman20
I think I put a thread up somewhere about these, and I agree the price is amazing. It makes you wonder why other cabs are SO expensive compared to them. I understand the neo situation pushes prices right up, but an extra 50%-75%?! Really? These are fantastic prices. I am tempted to get some myself.
bobbytodd
i have 2x210 focus cabs and i'm very happy with them they sit really well with the streamliner
Alec
I'd be interested to see how people rate the 112T cabs. I'm not giving up my NEOX 212T, but for the people that prefer to have 2 12" cabs so that they can use just one for small things, but both for bigger, these could be interesting. Wonder how they stack up against, say the Aguilar GS112? They're certainly lighter - 14.5kg to the Aguilar's 19 kg. 3.75" taller, 1.25" narrower, 1.75" shallower. And priced *new* at a GS112's good used price! Also, on paper, 2dB more sensitive than the Aguilar, but a few dB less sensitive than the Shuttle/NEOX cabs - though not necessarily the end of the world! But, of course, all that's worth diddly if they don't sound great. But I suspect they just might... Edited March 9, 2012 by Alec
tonyf
Anyone had chance to try the 410T yet? Seriously tempted to go back to a couple of bigger cabs with my Streamliner. These look and sound amazing for the money. The Ed Friedland demo looks really good. jj1234
wish genz-benz bothered putting tweeter level controls on the shuttle 1x10 cabs -- these look good.
Musicman20
Did they not? I thought all of their Shuttle cabs had tweeter controls?
stingrayPete1977
My STL 1x12t does, my 1x10 is the only bit of non Genz gear I own (fanboy) so I can't check. Edited June 22, 2012 by stingrayPete1977
jj1234
yeah, neither of my stl 10s have them. i have to stop myself breaking the thing and open and disconnecting the tweeter myself

[/quote] I think you get a different kind of treble cut that way -- the tweeter can sometimes be pretty glassy sounding whereas larger drivers always naturally seem to roll of the very top in quite a sweet way. bigthumb
I'm planning a visit to BassDirect on Saturday to try these out. I'm potentially after a 4x10 although I'd certainly like to try whatever Focus cabs Mark has in stock.

Well I've just got back from Bassdirect with a 4x10 and a 1x15. Playing them in the shop i was amazed with the 2x10, it had so much balls. The 4x10 was obviously a bigger sound alltogether but hooking it up with the 1x15 really flicked my switch! lovely rich punchy sound. I used a Markbass F1. For the money these are outstanding. I'll be using them later at a gig and I'll let you know how it goes.

The build quality is up there with the pricier Genz cabs too. Just having a mess with the 1x15 on its own. I dont remember 15" cabs ever sounding this good. lively and bright even without using the tweeter and with the tweeter on the low setting it souds a very good gigable cab. loud, punchy, crisp and clear. stingrayPete1977
It would only be for home practice/acoustic style jams really as I have a neox 1x12T, my home made 1x10 is OK but its very muddy sounding. Maybe a birthday/xmas pressie to myself later in the year
bigthumb
Very happy with these cabs at last nights gig! Firstly the venue is one I've played many times with various different setups. Quite a large room which tends to soaks up the sound and usually quite busy. Most bands struggle to be heard clearly and just sound dull, distant and muddy. My band used our larger pa so as the drums can go through it and was probably almost at its limit. Guitars and bass is back line only. Two lead guitarists have pretty large rigs and rarely need pa support. So anyhow, big busy and noisy venue and the bass cut through lovely. I needed to tame the bass a bit, standing 25' from the stage I was quite surprised how deep it sounded but still clear and not what I would describe as muddy. After a bit more eq twiddling I got a pretty darn good sound, basically a Markbass set almost flat with the bass and low mid cut a little. I use a little VLE and some VPF to warm the sound a little but nothing over the top. I could hear everything I played clearly. Lows seemed tight, no nasty mids and on the occasions where I venture up the dusty end of the neck it all sounded so clear and strong. These cabs are an absolute bargain in my opinion. I've owned cabs at twice the price which have been no better. Even being non Neo their not exactly heavy and being quite compact I found I had no trouble carting them from the public carpark behind the pub to the stage. What I use would be overkill for some and I'm pretty sure I could have used the 1x15 and a 2x10 or even 2 2x15s (the 15" is a great little cab) and it would have been fine. Overall, very impressed.
