we tigers Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Thinking about selling my Epiphone EB-3. Lovely looking Japanese built EB that oozes quality. The Elite is from 2002 just prior to Gibson naming it Elitist due to copyright stuff with the Elite name. This EB-3 is not to be confused with the current Epiphone EB-3. That one's long scale and dodgy quality, this Elite is close to custom shop perfection. It's a short scale bass with a nice chunky neck reminiscent of a seventies precision neck. There are a few nicks on the bottom of the body and a previous owner decided to move the upper strap button but wasn't sure where to put it so next to the strap button he drilled another small hole. Despite these small blemishes it's an absolute looker! Comes in original Elite case. some specs: 2002-2005 USA EGBR Humbucker & EGBT Mini-humbucker pickups Book-matched African Mahogany top 1-piece, set mahogany neck Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays Tombstone headstock with pearl holly inlay 2-ply truss rod cover with "Gibson" engraving Open-back Gotoh tuners Bone nut 3-point bridge 4-ply black pickguard with thumbrest Nickel hardware Black reflector knobs 2 Vol. 2 Tone controls 4-way rotary selector switch 30.5" scale 1.68" nut width asking £500,- plus shipping.
