legoman Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 One that often springs to mind is Colin Moulding from XTC, not ever one to blow your socks off technique-wise, but could pen a nice bassline and formed a very underrated songwriting partnership with Andy Partridge Quote
RhysP Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012
Frank Blair. What bass is that by the way ? Aria of some sort ?
Couldn't see it well enough to make it out, but I know he used to be a Carvin endorsee so it might be one of those. Anyway, FAR nicer than the bass is the awesome Sea Foam Green Hamer SS2 that Eddie Martinez is playing! Quote

Beautiful lyric bass player, tunes are him. Phil Murray - Jack the Lad, Hedgehog Pie. How to play jigs and reels on bass. Steve Quote

Wooks79 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Totally Laurence O'Keefe every time. Dark Star we're such a massive influence on me when I first joined a band, and are still one of my favourite bands to this day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygYznTSMIw0 Quote

Jellyfish Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 John Myung. Although a lot of people know him, his name isn't thrown around much because it's not obvious to most people how talented he really is. For me, he's the epitome of what a bassist should be. Technical enough to play virtually anything in the band that he plays with, but smart enough to know that simple things sound just as good as complicated things sometimes. Quote
