fretmeister Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Don't know if we have many fans of Kyle, son of Clint on here, but I love his stuff! Anyway this bass: Apparently it's a Gibson custom shop job. No doubt hugely expensive... but, is a short / medium scale? It just doesn't look right to me!! What I mean is - I really like 32 scale basses and there aren't enough of them in the world. Anyone got any more info on the instrument? ta 1 Quote
JakeBrownBass Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) The body shape looks like a Tobias Growler with a fender-esque headstock. Edit, Seems its a copy of Carvins Bunny Brunel model, made by Gibson. I believe Gibson made the Carvin bass originally. Edited March 9, 2012 by JakeBrownBass Quote
Hellzero Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 And it's a 34 inches scale, but a very rare instrument as it's not been officially released by Gibson. That said Kyle Eastwood that we've seen quite a lot is a tall guy. 😉 1 Quote
fretmeister Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 He’s a fabulous player. I still love his Metropolitain album. Quote

Hellzero Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 He is 1.93 meter tall. 😉 And Bunny Brunel has been his private teacher. Quote
AndyTravis Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Current ESP Bunny Brunel model is exactly the same shape 3 Quote

BassBunny Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 (edited) I've got a Carvin BB75, the one in my profile picture. Well actually it's a BB75 body with a Marleaux neck, but that's a whole other story. The bass that I will never, ever part with. Edited August 2, 2021 by BassBunny 1 Quote
Grahambythesea Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I saw Kyle a couple of years ago and the Green Gibson Bunny Brunel was not used. He had a very similar looking Red 5 string, so after the show when he was signing CDs I asked him. He told me it was time to pension off the Gibson and the new one had been custom made in London, but wouldn’t name the maker. However elsewhere on an album he credits the Bass Gallery so putting 2 & 2 together I think Martin Peterson May have made it for him. The black lined fretless he uses is also a Gibson. In some photos there’s tape over the logo but on others you can read it. 2 Quote
