Unlined fretless - who makes them?

I probably can't afford to buy anything right now but I'm window shopping for a fretless bass.
I'm looking for a Jazz bass (jazz pickups , body shape isn't of great importance but I don't find Warwicks remotely attractive)
Unlined (preferably ebony) board.
Passive pickups.
Fender don't seem to do unlined basses and there dosen't seem to be a lot out there unless you get custom made.

Unlined mahogany Fender-like types are rare. You may be able to pick up an older (1990s) MIJ Jazz with an unlined rosewood fingerboard on ebay or gumtree.

If you want a cheap option you could try veneering a neck! Dont laugh it worked on my Ryder. (The walnut P next to that one you asked about

Paint both veneer and fboard with watered down PVA glue. 2 coats. Let it dry and iron on. Quick sand down and your done No bumps and plays lovely.

Good call my friend! would love to see that bass in action.

I am having a new unmarked ebony fingerboard put on a bass by a reputable luthier only ., £75 !!. I think that is a great price considering I was quoted £300 by a big-named UK company.
Find a fretted you love, find another £75. Hey presto.

Thats a good price! I wouldnt mind his (Or her, you never know) details please and an apraisal of the finished job since I have similar plans.

I'd be happy to re-board a bass myself, I did that to make my current fretless. I was struck by the lack of off the peg unlined basses out there.
