Thor Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I think it fair to say you get what you pay for. I bought my daughter an electro acoustic (6 string) guitar last christmas, she'd been playing for around 6 months so a relative newbie, however, whilst the quality of finish isn't great, it actually plays (action etc) really nicely for a budget guitar. icastle Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I guess it really depends on what your expectations are of it. My experience of acoustic basses is that they're generally too quiet to play alongside other acoustic instruments without amplification. Quote
Looper Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Hi, I bought a gear4music acoustic (4 string), was ok but it buzzed on more frets than a bubble bee in a guitar shop. I made a new bridge to bring the action up and it was fine. Then one of the machine-heads broke (which they replaced with no questions asked). All in all I got what I payed for, a cheap guitar to take to the pub. Quote
EdwardHimself Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I remember you used to be able to get a similar thing from thomann at around the same price, if not a little more expensive. At the end of the day, you can send it back if it is really rubbish so as long as you're not expecting anything amazing then might as well give it a go. Quote
