Viajero
I'm trying to get my hands on an Ibanez GWB (the 35, not the top-line monster). The word from Sound Control is that Ibanez are only shipping 6 more into the UK over the next few months, and they've already been bought. GAK say something similar, as does everyone else. With the strong euro, it's not worth getting in from Europe. Does anyone out there have any ideas for speeding things up, or know if there are any left lurking in shops? 3V17C
one went on ebay yesterday for a tad over 300 notes! i've been looking at fretlesses lately too, the GWB crops up in alot of searches but i guess whether the shops actually have them in stock is a different kettle of fish. cheers c
6stringbassist
They're being sold by Fairdeal muic for £619. http://www.fairdealmusic.com/guitars/bass_...gwb105-5-string I think that Ibanez have renamed the GWB35 and it's now the GWB105, it's available in a natural wood finish which is like the one that Gary plays, and I think looks better. Is it just the finish that's changed??? Maybe if I find another fretless 5 I like more then mine'll be up for sale, but the chances of that happening soon look slim! Viajero
The 105 isn't listed on Ibanez's website. Theres the 1005, the one Willis himself plays and goes for 2000+, and the 35, which is the cheaper one. Thanks for the Fairdeal link - looks like a great price on the previous model, if that makes sense. They've got a good price on the 35, too, but I suspect availaility might come a cropper again. I'll give it a try. Cheers guys!

Mikey D
Just to clarify. The original signature model was the GWB1 and GWB2 (Which you could get in fretted, which I still want!!). These basses had ebony boards and ramps that attached with tape. Then the GWB2 was discontinued. They then brought out the GWB35 as a budget model with ebonal board. Then the GWB1 was replaced with the GWB105 which also had an ebonal board and now a ramp which attaches with screws. The 105 was the old "top of the range" and was discontinued when they moved the build to a japanese master builder, and it became the 1005. Although this meant that there was a dramatic increase in price. The 105 has a matching ash headstock and the 1005 has a black headstock. Although I believe the bartolini electronics are the same!?
