Oops - should have put this in Repairs - sorry

No - I am not after psychiatric help - far too gone for that

Got a secondhand Squier VM fretless jazz last week. Decided to stick a Gotoh bridge on it to replace the bent tin, but when the strings came off, I found the nut was loose and could be removed from the slot.

Simple question - what's the best thing to use to stick it back in again? I have the choice of hot-melt, superglue or epoxy in the house, or is there something else you think I should use?

Thanks

as above or small dot of superglue, that bond is easily broken with a gentle sideways tap when its time to replace. Loose nuts are not uncommon on some basses and no cause for concern :)

Thanks Geoff

I was just wondering if a loose nut has any effect on tone - and whether it needs a 'hard' bond to the neck (like epoxy) rather than a soft glue type one (or do I need to get out more)

Or PVA. But again only a tiny amount so that it can easily be removed if needed in the future.

Don't use cyanoacrylate (super-glue) as it has a tendency to bloom.

All of the above.
