Hi, new member here, been reading the forum a lot, but this is my 1st post…and I’ve got the bloomin’ cheek to ask for advice as well ( )...!!

What it is, I’m actually looking to raise funds for a new 5-String Musicman Bongo…you could probably call this one my 1st ‘serious’ bass if you like!!

I’ve got three basses which I’m looking to sell, however I’m not exactly sure as to what to expect price wise for them and was wondering if any of you kind hearted souls out there could possibly advise me…I’ll be selling in GBP (£’s).

My 1st bass is a 4-string Japanese Fender Precision Lyte Deluxe as per the attached link.

My 2nd bass is a 4-string Epiphone Standard Les Paul Bass as per the attached link (although it is in Ebony finish).

My 3rd bass is a 4-string Tanglewood acoustic as per the attached link.

I’m obviously looking for as much as possible, but I’d appreciate realistic prices…thanks in advance for any assistance that is offered…that’s a beer I owe you all!!

:)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Look on eBay under completed listings. There you'll get an idea on what people are willing to pay.

Good luck!

As a general rule, if they are in ok condition bass's normally go for about 50-75% of their new price, depending how sort after they are this can change.

P bass's are going for quite a lot at the moment as there is a big demand for them (not sure why)
And Stingrays seam to be flooding the market and going for quite cheep.

If your gonna sell them on Fleebay and you didnt want to figure out how much they are worth, bang them on at 50% and see what people will pay for them. even if you get 50% of the new price, its money in your pocket.

Could try selling them in the forums too.

My educated guess:

1. £230-£250
2. £130-£170
£. £150-£180

Unfortunately none of these instruments are particularly desirable - someone had a P-bass Lyte on eBay recently at £300, and it ended with no bids. I played one in a shop a couple of years back and they dropped the price to £250 used. Didn't buy it as it wasn't very nice. In any case, good luck and hope you get the requisite funds for the Bongo!

Maybe that's because the P Bass Lyte is hideous? IMO, of course! If the Epi was at the less expensive end of that price bracket I might be interested though, it may quell my want for an EB-3

Hi Mr. Bo !
Seems like I might be one of the few people on here that actually likes the Precision Lyte ! Having said that, I know from experience that there is a world of difference from one to another. I love some, hate others. What's the serial no. and finish of your particular model ? I might be interested . . .
