Flatwounds and 'The Mix'. Is it just me, or....

I've had engineers be a bit sus about flatwounds for before gigs,
I wonder if it's cos engineers wanna be able to add top or bottom and with flatwounds they might think they won't be able to add a bit of top to help you cut through,

Same here - plug direct into the desk, no EQ and there's the sound of my bass with flats.
How hard can that be?
