I've got a new PA which has powered speakers, monitors, and bass bins. All this has to be lugged on gig night along with the usual paraphenalia of amps, cabs etc. Can anyone recommend a decent wheeled trolley for loading gear into venues before this old man kills himself. I've looked at a few online but wondered if anyone had found one that was just the ticket.

Any trolley will be better than no trolley - I prefer the ones with wheels... Gonna depend on the weight you want to put on them, and I'd strongly advise not not buy sh*te!

speaking from personal experience old boy,
I'd go for one with solid wheels, on the odd occasion should you get a puncture you would be well and truly cream crackered.
just my twopence worth.

Then there is the issue of getting across different types of terrain! Grass, pebbles, steps, decking and uneven slabs. I've even done sand and water! We have 3 trolleys in the band. Two are foldy-up ones from B&Q which cost £20 and are good for amps, pa cabs etc. The other is a flat 4 wheel thing that is good for bins and instruments etc.

Warwick used t do (still do?) a fabulous piece of kit called something like the Rocktrolly. We have 2 of them, and they are extending solid things with pump up or solid wheels, that can carry 500lbs each. We have had many band races on them at the end of the night, so they can certainly carry a grown man with ease! pm me, and I might be peruaded to let you have one for a good price..........

Thanks for the replies everybody. Very helpful and much appreciated. I think I can now cancel the order for the truss! :)

Hi Hutton,

I have one of these at work and they are brilliant! http://www.csi-produ...city-p-353.html

Fold flat for easy transportation with a fair sized base (as in bass not crass http://basschat.co.u...2-bass-or-base/) for your gear.

What's not to like
