Bigwan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Hi all, I have for sale my John East J-retro. This one has a mixed black and chrome knob set (originally taken from my Lakland JO where it was factory fitted). It's been well used and the control plate is a little scratched from the previous owner's inability to locate the jack plug! The preamp's been back to Mr. East recently for a once over. He's replaced a few components and proclaimed all is well. I've noticed in the past that the active/passive switch can be a little troublesome if it's been sitting in the one position for a long time, but this never bothered me as I always used it in active mode when it was fitted (which it hasn't been in quite a while). A quick squirt of switch cleaner has always worked when this has been a problem, but in light of this the price has been adjusted accordingly. It's a great sounding preamp, but I'm mostly an all passive guy now. £SOLD SOLD SOLD PLEASE NOTE: This is one of the earliest versions of this pre and as such soldering is required - no screw terminals unfortunately!
