ITEM NOW SOLD

Tokai Hardpuncher PJ55 Precision style bass (pics to follow). Manufactured in 1985, this is one of the early Tokais that Fender got the hump with, as they were so good, in both quality and replication, so took Tokai to court about.

This link to Tokai shows details: http://www.tokairegi...html#1985-86Cat

then choose 1985, page 11, which is this link: http://www.tokairegi...s/tokai8511.jpg

The bass is in white, with a black pickguard, rosewood fretboard, and (faded) gold hardware. The back of the neck and headstock are also white. The link states the body is made of alder or ash - regrettably, I`ve no way of knowing. Has P/J pickup configuration, with volume, volume, tone controls.

Width at nut: 41mm

Weight is between 8 and 9 lbs - I don`t have any scales, but it is considerably easier on the back than my 10 lb US Precision.

Has recently had new CTS pots, and orange-drop capacitor installed, plus a minor set-up, and will come with a Fender gigbag.

Looking for £400 for this bass which will include delivery within the UK.

Payment via Paypal, Bank Transfer, or good old cash on collection. No trades thanks.

They`ll be up later on today. Just have to work my usual David Bailey magic with my Blackberry!

I've seen this in the flesh and it really is quite special. Imagine a vintage Olympic White Fender P, but with Tokai on the headstock. The white has turned a lovely buttercream-y colour and it looks well mojo'd and well worn in.

Plus, Lozz is like the best dude ever to deal with!

Truckstop

Lots of Tokai love here Lozz, that looks amazing & I'm sure it'll sound as good as it looks - beautiful B)

Bump for a great bass.

I own two, both with the 70s -like decal on the H/S. I believe yours is considered to be the much the rarer '60s model. They are fabulous playing and sounding basses, I really like both of mine.

Just noticed this this morning Lozz.
I've put my Fender Duck Dunn up to try to get this.
This ticks EVERY box on my ideal P list.
Worst case scenario, you sell it I keep me Duck, not exactly life or death then.
Good luck (to me)

Just saw your Duck, lovely bass. If I weren`t needing the dough, I`d really be tempted with a p/x deal, but am selling the Tokai to fund a bass I`ve already bought.

Must resist, must resist!
