soundbass
I would be interested to know what other bass players use as Bass Amp Heads as a partner to a Barefaced Compact Cab, and why they chose that Head over any other they may have tried. Thanks
Happy Jack
I routinely run either an Orange Terror Bass or a Gallien Krueger MB500 through mine. They both sound great, just different. Depends what music you're playing, what venues, and of course what bass and what sound you like.
RandomBass
+1 to the Terror Bass through my Compact: never fails to please me. Also use an Ashdown ABM500 which is a totally different sound, but just as addictive. Both heads sound very loud through single or two Compacts. However, at the moment the TB plus one Compact is a winning combination. Cheers Geoff
Lozz196
I used an Ampeg PF500 through mine. As the Barefaced cabs are so transparent with their sound, whatever amp/bass you choose, you will hear it`s tone perfectly through the cab. So, choose the amp whose tone you like the best - and get that tone you love perfectly uncloured.
Raggy
I had a Compact before getting my Dubster and tried it with a Littlemark 3 and a Streamliner 9. Both sounded good through it, echoing Lozz's statement above regarding transparency, but the Streamliner edged it for me. Really full sounding. Matt_Arlita
+1 for the PF-500. Thunderous.
Paul S
Depends what music you're playing, what venues, and of course what bass and what sound you like.
That. FWIW I use a TC Electronics Classic 450. I like the sound of it for my rock bands and find the onboard compressor and Tubtone useable and useful. brensabre79
That +1. I use a GB Shuttle 6 because they were on offer when I was buying a new amp. Alex C uses the same amp for testing/development of his cabs too I'm told.
alexclaber
There's a long story behind why we ended up with a Shuttle 6.0 - lots of amps work well with the Compact (as this thread shows!) just a question of matching up preferred tone(s), required loudness, size/weight and budget. Email if you want specific assistance...
clauster
As Alex said, drop him an email to get the answer from the horse's mouth (so to speak). FWIW I'm using a Hartke LH500 - clean, warm and LOUD! I've also run an Ashdown EB180 through it, also sounded great, slightly better tone for my taste (but obviously not as loud). Thinking of getting the new Ashdown LB550.

nottswarwick
Abm 500 worked well. Don't have the cab now, but my streamliner would be good too.
